Late on Friday, June 24 a woman was killed by a drunken motorist in northwest Omaha.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened when a Chevrolet Aveo with two adults and a child inside was smashed into by a Chevrolet Malibu which was driving without headlights at around 11 p.m. on Sorensen Parkway just west of Wenninghoff Road.
The Malibu had been involved in a previous accident around a mile away and had fled the scene. The driver exited the vehicle just before the car burst into flames and suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center.
A woman in the Chevrolet was killed and the other adult and the child were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with serious injuries.
