Three Teenage Boys Seriously Injured in Single Vehicle Rollover Crash

On Wednesday afternoon, October 19, three teenage boys were seriously injured in Sarpy County in a single vehicle rollover crash.

According to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at about 3 p.m. when the boys were in a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire driving eastbound on Capeheart Road. The driver, 16 year old Braden Springer of Omaha, then lost control on the gravel road west of 96th Street, left the roadway and went into a ditch, then struck a culvert and rolled.

One of the boys was thrown from the car, and the others were trapped in it. Hunter Jacobsen, also 16 of Omaha was in the front seat and both he and the driver were wearing seat belts. The rear seat passenger was Jared Lichliter, aged 15, of Omaha who was not wearing a seat belt.

Two of the boys were taken in an ambulance to the Nebraska Medical Center and one was flown there, where there is no word on their current condition.
