On Monday evening, April 24 a motorcyclist was killed in Omaha.
According to Omaha police, the accident happened just before 7 p.m. near 41st and Madison Streets. A blue 2003 Ford F150 pickup truck being driven by 34 year old Omahan Joseph R. Madej which was heading west on Madison failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into 48 year old Daniel C. McDonald, of Omaha on his 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle who had been traveling north on 41st Street. The motorcycle then smashed into a white 2006 Ford F150 which was parked on Madison, just west of 41st Street and the motorcycle and the parked pickup caught fire.
McDonald was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger, 49 year old Patricia McDonald, also of Omaha, had several broken bones and was badly cut and she was taken by ambulance to the Nebraska Medical Center.
Madej was uninjured and was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle homicide and jailed.
