On Tuesday, September 15, a man died following a motorcycle crash some six days earlier.
According to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, 36 year old Jared Parker of Omaha was in a crash on Thursday, September 10 at around nine in the morning. The accident happened on Highway 6, near Bryan Street in Greta when Parker attempted to lay his motorcycle down in order to avoid a collision when a pickup truck turned in front of him.
Parker, who was camp director at the Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center, was wearing a helmet but still suffered head injuries along with numerous fractures and he was taken by helicopter to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center where he died on Tuesday.
The driver of the truck, 45 year old Jame Sedlacek was uninjured.
The accident is still under investigation and there are possibilities that charges will be filed.
